This is a really old picture, and I am not sure what family member it was made for. It was probably my mom, because she loves coconut cakes! We have a family tradition that we observe at every birthday celebration. After we sing the traditional “Happy Birthday To You,” we sing “Sto Lat”. Sto Lat is the Polish version of Happy Birthday, and it’s a song that expresses good wishes of health and a long life. It literally means, I believe, “we wish you to live 100 years”.
